It’s a powerful lesson

And I’m grateful. Apparently it bares repeating, refreshing, further study…

Over the past few years a theme Deedles and I have been working on goes sumpin’ like this: “There are so few things in life we, as individuals, control. Who we expose ourselves to is one.”

How does that relate to this morning? Well it’s April Fools Day, a tradition I don’t understand or enjoy. If I did I’d say something like “Ha, see? Mother Nature has played a trick on me!” I don’t cherish this weather this time of year. Oh it’s gorgeous, the play of light, the contrast in the flat light of the pristine white and other colors. The stillness and quiet, I dig it.

It’s most certainly NOT what I want though! I want to hear the frogs sing. I want to see and smell grass. I want to feel warm sunlight on my face. I want to ride a motorcycle. I want to relish spring bulb beauty. I want I want I want…

So like the Grome in the background of the picture, I’ve learned to shed somethings. I’ve begun to understand surrender. I practice being the witness. I’m challenged to be objective.

I am completely enamored with Earth. Nothing is more important. I’m still just one of her piddly little creatures somewhat absorbed in my own experience, trials tribulations and trifles. (“Pass the truffles b*tch, I’m having a moment!”)

It’s the master class, letting go, allowing, being.

Peace is not a response, it’s a choice, a lesson, a mighty powerful one for me

Gratitude for the opportunity, chance, moment

(Sound of brappy motorcycle roaring off in the distance, away, up shifting as it accelerates, diminishing, leaving the quiet gray still snowy morning, me alone in Nature)

Huge breath
