It’s just so many little things

I’m a few deliveries into the day, just dropped 100 gallons of kerosene to a retired couple in Harpswell. (I’ve delivered propane to the same address, lovely lady paid me then.)

Cute fella is handing me the check around the storm door as I approach with the ticket/receipt, and asks “Cold, ain’t it?”

I reply “Not really, the wind isn’t blowing and it’s nice to see the sun. I’ll go with nippy!” and he laughs.

We exchange salutations and part ways. It’s so many little things that fill days, the positive ones make such a pleasant impact.

I mean, it’s hard to imagine a nasty couple living in a house with gnome and porcelain Persian residing under cover on the well-house, 100 yards from the ocean…
