I’m exploring inflammation, and as the topic goes in popularity, ANTIinfamatory diets are getting mucho buzz.
I’ve been confused about it, been getting mixed results from conversation with various people, and slowly researching and creating my own understanding.
One aspect came up, really more regarding overall health and being regulated, sleep hygiene. Sounded weird, I mean I don’t sleep dirty…
I guess I could liken it to “oral hygiene” which is more than brushing teeth, it’s an entire behavior pattern with various elements.
As far as sleep hygiene, I already have lots of the boxes checked. Comfy bed, thank you PURPLE! Cool bedroom, thank you Washington County, and admittedly, my near obsession with sleeping by an open window. Comfy bedding, pretty much flannel year round. Warm bath before bed, and or stretch. Don’t eat before bed, okay that needs some practice (three hours recommended, basically go to bed on an empty stomach.)
I live in a dark area so blocking out light isn’t an issue. I live in a quiet area so I don’t need to deal with sound. What’s the missing link? Now, to be fair, I do not have sleep issues. Perhaps that’s due to all the checked boxes (including very little caffeine intake, ability to quiet my mind, very little screen time and bright lights).
But to lock in on feeling regulated, a regular bed and wake up time are crucial to the equation. That’s the missing link, hard part for me. Especially “weekends” (I did quotes as my work schedule varies and I don’t have traditional weekends on the S days). Imma lean into it and keep you posted!
