The shift(s)

I worked two days this week, pleasant 5hr shift with one paid 15min break. I’ve been scheduled for the next two weeks, variables days, same shift. (In two weeks my supervision had me from 7-11, and I mentioned that, if possible as I come down from Wesley, the 7-12 shift makes it “more worth my while.” He looked at me, down at the schedule, back at me. Took out his pen and as he adjusted the schedule in real time, “You’re not in the computer yet so we’ll just change it to that right now.” BOOM, feeling heard, seen!)

Feeling real. The produce crew is incredibly pleasant and we gently bustle about, constantly stocking. I haven’t had a lot of verbal feedback, but I can tell they are like “Whoa, he gets it!” Mostly because I’m not getting a whole lot of instruction, redirection, pointers. My questions are being addressed wholly, often accompanied by “Good question.”

The shift is on, and I can continue the momentum of progress around the house and land!
