
It feels like another season. The buzz of hummers at the feeder, many other birds, the frogs in the tres around me. And the leaves, THE LEAVES!
The Earth inhales an immense amount of carbon every spring, long documented, as the majority of land mass is in the northern hemisphere. The trees suck it up and sink it into all those little green solar panels.
Yes, Earth breathes, albeit at a very different interval. She’ll breathe the archetypal sigh once the human era passes, and get back to her normal rhythm bereft of greed, instability and imbalance, politics and hatred.
Obvi, I won’t be here to witness it, but I’m glad she’ll heal and move on. In the meantime cultivating peace feels Herculean…
