Front blinkers wired up after careful consideration. It was much easier than described, instructed. It’s not so much the manufacturers bad, they’ve made multifunction blinkers that adapt to different bikes. The set isn’t designed for my bike, as I’ve had to customize a number of things.
In the case of the front blinker wiring, they were unaware/ignorant of the fact that my fronts already functioned as running lights, thus had an extra wire to each. That meant I didn’t need their workaround, simplifying and making making instal tidier. I just had to realize that and work around their workaround, selfcanceling of sorts!
Anyhoot, regarding the above picture. The two vertical gold tubes are the front forks. They are coming off this or next week to have upgrades installed, it’ll be night and day difference. The black thing my fingers are pointing to is a stand alone bracket for, you guessed it, one simple solitary individual separate isolated reflector.
That’s kind of a lot of metal for a circular piece of plastic. The bolts that attach it to the fork are called pinch bolts, as that’s what they do, how they hold the fork in the triple clamp, on the bike. I need to loosen them to remove the fork tube.
When I do so, I’ll bring them all the way out (and quickly inspect, clean and lube) so as to eliminate the bracket. A dirt bike wouldn’t even have the bracket, let alone reflector, it’s a street legal thing.
I’ll still have the requisite reflector minus the bracket, loose the weight and probability that it will snag on and collect stuff. The receptor dresses up the front fender a little. I’ll duplicate the process on the other side momentarily.
It’s little tweaks like this that all add to the character of an individual’s bike. My little BDR Bomber…
