This stainless steel pressure cooker (an Italian brand Æternum) that I scored free on Peaks has been stalwart. It’s been cooking up a storm for a decade or so. We learned together during covid lockdown to make beans from scratch that don’t bellow from me bum, and all sorts of things.
The red top is plastic, and sometimes pops off, dropping the weight into the pot. Today I had to go out to the compost and find the last batch of chicken bone stock, and then extricate both top and bottom. I had forgotten it was in there, and fortunately didn’t have to dig much.
The additional weight hasn’t stopped it from reaching pressure, time for lunch of veggies, said chicken stock, and a 1/4# of ground pork crumbles. Good gray day indoor project fuel. Perhaps a quick trip to Machias tomorrow for fasteners for the next sliding door and the insulation panels
