Roof on, sealed!

And very nearly done. I haven’t figured out what to put on the bottom edge yet. I don’t even know what it is called…

I invented then created a soffet, which still needs the bottom piece for closure. It’s not fancy, and I prolly won’t even vent it as the two sides are practically inconsequential.

But the roofing is fastened down and sealed. It was the final bit that really brought the structure together. It’s amazing feeling it get stronger and stronger. At the end of the day, it’s still just 2×4 (two by four) construction and not bombproof.

I’m decompressing, don’t need to be at work until noon, so will put together a materials list to fill the gap between the walls and roof and, oh, I think that thing on the bottom edge of the roof/outer edge of the eve is a fascia board (spell check wants me to go with the body tissue, deal with the truth of that later…)

Whooped, feeling a definite sense of achievement, and actually rather proud of myself. I hope to get it buttoned up early next week. The insulative vapor barrier is due mid week and I can get the rockwool in and protected. (Pondering interior siding, thinking a t&g (tongue and groove) pine that will smell good and flex with the moisture…)

It’s gonna be a bright moon when I soak in the grome before bed. I will miss my little trips down there, but it’s not an appropriate winter place for the little tub I’m currently using.
