Bring certain amounts of relief. This particular stage = massive relief, sense of accomplishment!
Working a 5 hour shift in town gets me up, going (replete with motorcycle commute in the glorious late summer morning sunlight!) and home in time for lunch (sometimes a teeny snooz if I stay seated after previous activity) and then the second part of the day! This wouldn’t be happening if I was still delivering.
Yesterday/last night I had lined up some ideas, gathered materials, scratched my head, dry fit a couple pieces. Today I fiddled with said pieces and head scratching, then decided to mix some mortar/mud and the pieces just started to fall together.
Almost a quantum leap. The mortar will have a chance to setup some, but tomorrow after another morning five hour shift I’ll finish filling the foundation. It’s a large addition to the system, increasing the thermal mass/heat battery. Hopefully it stabilizes and maximizes the draft flow. That’s the goal of this whole process, project…
