Just lots and lots of WOW…
I haven’t had the bike a year yet. It’s been through quite the metamorphosis. I feel like today I RODE MY BIKE for the first time.
I’m still digesting, in awe. It feels so planted, connected to the ground. I feel connected, enmeshed. The lever upgrades put the control where I need it and more accurately. The rear shock isn’t smooshy, it keeps the wheel down on the dirt, takes out the peaks and valleys that existed before. The tires, oh the MOTOZ, they grab what they are supposed and glide past the rest.
The bike feels so much more predictable, under my control, safer. It practically feels like a mountain bike, not dainty but it goes where I ask it to, doesn’t go where it’s not supposed to. There wasn’t much of a learning curve, nothing that took me by surprise. It felt like it was supposed to!
That said, in its stock form and through this transition it was still ridonculously fun, what I’d been yearning for my entire life. Now it feels like it has PURPOSE, a chutzpah, a sharpness. It’s packing WOW, and I’m trying to sort out my next couple weeks, embrace the WOW!
I don’t want to be impulsive about it, but the majority of roads are remaining closed for a couplefew weeks after that good rain. I’d really like to explore this next level, take MY BIKE on a little junket, christen btwxd…
