I dunno if this’ll work

I reattached the windscreen to MINCX today. It’s a different configuration, the original “fly screen” (aka a teeny-weeny windscreen, which is an in accurate name as it isn’t a screen like we often think and it’s more of a windshield, but that’s not what motorcyclists call them.?.?.?). Last summer I used a smaller darker windscreen as my fav was busted. It worked well until I upgraded the seat. The new seat bumps my helmeted head up into the airflow. (The helmet is so amazing I don’t get lots of buffeting, but my new seating position is noisy and windier than I want.)

I fiddled with ideas and configurations this winter, then fixed the break. I’ll try this and see what happens, it has promise. The larger aftermarket screen is on top of the original silly fly screen. Short brackets separate them. I’ve put in two supports (wine cork pillars with fasteners through and keeping tension on them.)

One pillar supports the segment of screen that broke off. Another is in the middle at the bottom, stabilizing the screen and preventing wind from pushing it back.

The Buddha sticker is on the larger outer screen. A calculated opening below minimizes backdraft and screen buffering. (There’s an in depth discussion on the makers website about the why’s of it, serious physics, aerodynamics stuff.). The little original fly screen has a new holographic lotus flower decal for depth, and fun. It looks like Buddha is floating up out of it, I like how it turned out. The smaller screen will protect the instrument cluster more than the aftermarket on did.

I may have mangled the science though, and will hav to see if it works. The theory seems legit, testing will decide…

I’m attempting to upload a video to my new vlog. Unfortunately my cell service has practically flat lined, and I’m about to switch carriers. The new network SUX, and is annoying as all get out. The video is uploading so slowly that I’ll let it continue its attempt tonight, but I’m exploring other options. I HAD an ironically amazing signal for my location. Basically I’m pissed, and almost completely fed up…
