The replacement header/exhaust pipe was not difficult to instal. A dy fit on the new muffler went okay, but needed dialing.

What needed some adjusting, however, was the oxygen sensor going into the header, and the fitting of the beloved Hepco Becker bashplate. Below, the process under way…

I couldn’t just push the bashplate away as the three dimensional shape would then misalign the bottom fasteners. Hmmmmm. The sensor input actually twisted slightly out of the way with gentle encouragement. The cup it rests in is being altered. The fasteners are getting dialed. One more trip to the hardware store and I believe it’ll all gel.

As MINCX did the heavy lifting last summer on my summer commute, it’s time to show her some appreciation, dial in the experience. I’m beside myself with anticipation to here her sing, but must first finalize the air box mod and button up the plastic ensconcing the air box.
It will then be time to reset the ECU as the (air) intake and (exhaust) output have been altered from stock. The reset is easy enough, that’s the easy part following a few steps in specific order. I’m exploring a few different little trips once she’s singing, AND my silly road is passable…
