And I needed the break, but time to get into projects.
There is definitely something in the wind. I missed yesterday’s melt-a-thon running an errand, and was surprised by it! Daytime temps this week ALL above freezing. The shift is on, even if it takes months over here! DST kicks in this weekend, a welcome component of the shift!
The stove is smelling (yucky) again, I’m actively planning some oven bypass options and looking for a mild window to tackle it. I’ll need some ingredients, but looking to begin the somewhatish permanent solution. I do think, speaking long term, that I’ll build a hybrid core. I LOVE the CFB [ceramic fiberboard] but it’s not quite tough enough for the p~pad. WalkerStoves does have core plans for firebrick, that’s on the agenda…)
Tackling slider numero dos, so as to let the milder air move around in the Borch, have more door options. The ramp quickly fills with the ubiquitous “stuff” when the door is blocked. No thank you. (I miss the direct glide down the ramp into the yard, versus around the corner past the stuff through the door onto the landing and all of that…)
