Do I recall buying animals at a store.

Japhi cost me a few bux (I don’t remember how much) but that’s was cash to a friend. I had hamsters a kid, but I didn’t buy them…. Joshua the rabbit, where did he come from? OH, Berman my budgie was obvi from a pet store, again, didn’t buy him. (Too bad the family room on Brook Road was too cold for tropical birds, he was a sweet fella!)
I had a marvelous interaction with a very aware, grounded and friendly employee at Pet Pro in the Airpot Mall. Incredibly informative, budget friendly, helpful and professional. I’ll be using them for any critter needs!!!
They didn’t have floating aquatic plants so will continue to poke around online and explore shipping potential amidst winter temps. Carrots, I’ll have you know, are in short supply due to “severe weather.”
I procured a variety of materials for almost as many projects around the homestead. Busy day in town, didn’t get everything done, but plenty! (It’s an excellent time to buy hummingbird feeders!)
The fire is picking back up, my beach rose kombucha is blowing my tastebuds away (Root Wild in Portland makes amazing kombucha at a premium price, I bought some less expensive bulk kombucha for comparison, not a fan of the heavy glass bottles they came in. Shrug…) and I’m going to read up on water testing after I release the goldfish.
Sure, that sounds kinda backwards, but I’m thinking this here well water I’ve been drinking for decades unfiltered/untreated is likely a good substrate (?) for the fish.
It’s all part of the learning curve…
