Today’s mantra

“It’s not snow, it’s not snow, IT’S NOT SNOW”

I usually don’t celebrate other’s mistakes, but fortunately the weather prediction community bungled this storm.

Yes we had snow last night, but a literal minor fraction of the prediction, and yes we are getting rain, but it’s likely ending before the prediction (based on radar observation).

Had a rough stove lighting upon arrival last night, pushing the cooktop sealing project up the list. Unfortunately it’s not that simple, as my goal is to utilize some currently tucked (as in “incorporated” inside the build, not buried but waiting) in stove pipe to create an oven bypass (sending the flu gases straight to the water heater/bench when I want, but not negating the oven). I have neither the materials nor the weather window.

BECAUSE

Something the meteorologists do VERY well (and this isn’t a diss in ANY way shape or form), temperature. Next week introduces single digits and potentially even subzero. NOT a window for stove fiddling and upgrading….

So for today, see above mantra, while I dig, move, manage water logged snow pack, and lots of it. Roofs? Prolly not
