I had just crossed the Machias River, about 10 minutes from Carlow Road and smoke began to bellow out behind. Generally accepted as sign of NO BUENO, I pulled over and either the tire is flat or bearing is shot, or both, or whatever, diagnosis’ irrelevant because I’m not dragging the thing an hour down the road.

Yah, so I have to climb a nearby hill to get a single bar of reception, a couple of crackly calls later, and I’m assured someone will come and fetch it.
It took over an hour, but it happened. Sure, saves me the trip to town and back, BUT I obviously missed my testing appointment.
I’ll be interviewing via Zoom instead of in person (boooooo) and will leave for work tomorrow, somewhere in the mix getting tested.
