I added a “header” to the top of the entrance to the firebox. Also recessed the left firebrick bumper, flashed the top of the middle, and getting more excited!
The clamps are helping with some shaping, forming. I don’t think it’s going to do much, but keeps things in place. I’ll be doing a crush test on a strap of fire board soon. It’s not load bearing, supportive structurally.
