There are times when

I feel more connected to, a deeper stewardship with my property.

I don’t like cutting trees down, I LOVE IT! Obviously I don’t get obsessive about it, and I carefully choose which to cut when, balancing with planting. BUT, the process is a glorious one, usually.

No, I dint do a before shot of ol’ snaggle tooth. But here it is, piled up against the bench, warming up, preparing to heat the cabin. It’s messy work for sure.

The tree was leaning the direction I wanted it to go, but wedged it over nonetheless. I walked up the felled trunk on my snowshoes and removed a great many limbs, mostly dead.

I hauled said said limbs upta the cabin and bucked ‘em up. There’s a lot of moss and Old Man’s Beard and lichen on the branches so it’s messy, and smelly, and some branches hiss from having been drug through the snow, I’ve got saw chips in my crocs and pitch on me whilst the stove pops and crackles.

Free BTUs and fewer needed subsequently as the sun will hit the house more, as well as the dome.

Oh, I almost posted without mentioning it. Yah, get used to that…
