And total inspiration. I met a wonderful gentleman (retired school teacher as turns out) and he has a groovy medium sized greenhouse heated with a small kerosene space heater (a small renei essentially) and he and his wife eat fresh greens year round.

He had an issue with the heater and needed to unload some stuff. Literally pulled the fennel out of the bed, shucked the two outer stalks and then snipped off some sprigs of rosemary.

The truck smelled so good all day, and I had all that time to scheme up a good lasagna. Cooking therapy fun ensues, as I savor the smells, fresh local produce, and the reality that I don’t necessarily have to leave maine to play in the dirt….
