I’m upgrading MINCX to be able to carry stuff. It was interesting having a motorcycle that was basically just that. Rather limiting though, and I don’t wear backpacks while riding (that’s it’s own discussion).
The back rack is great, and will still serve many functions, but not being able to haul stuff is stupid. I don’t ride for pleasure, it’s a two wheeled car. The straw that broke the taxed camel back was not having room for varnish to work on the row boat today while I actually had some daylight to apply it. It’s a rarity increasingly, and soon I won’t be on two wheels at all, but I’ll be ready once fair weather returns come spring
The new tires are broken in, I nailed 75MPG in the process, riding gently. I’ll be curious to see what adding side bags does to the mileage. It’s worth any reduction in the goal of limiting car use…
