Saturday’s splendid visit

At BOF with Laura and her critters. Ellsworth drinks a ton (of very fresh) water, and seems to now favor the main sink versus the pot sink by the entry. (It’s a lower countertop and likely to be turned more rapidly)

I was encouraged to keep the door closed to Dee’s suite for uninterrupted sleep. NO WAY! No pictures of “Upstairs Kitty” or them visiting with me while I briefly slumbered.

Laura and I caught up in the morning, including some Finn snuggles. She met up with a friend, allowing me to fiddle in the kitchen and come up with a scrumptious nectarine salsa to adorn our corn quesadillas (hers was salmon, mine was “imported” local Maine beef) for lunch. It was fuel for the body and soul, the food, the visit, the quiet gray morning on the farm.

Ironically I inherited a rowboat that’s languishing in the lower barn. Spring pickup unless I find myself down there unexpectedly.
