I had enough thickener for the upper mast partner. The stainless fasteners are on the large side for the job but the little (#6 3/4” flat head siliconized bronze wood) screws weren’t giving me the action this piece required. The pan heads give it a little of a steam punk look. The spacing isn’t perfect, giving it a little of a Papa look…
It’s fascinating reaching into something from one side to work. It’s very hard to know where the middle and exact oppositeposition is. It won’t be noticeable to most, especially once the mast is stepped. (It might look worse/more obvious once the mast hole is made, but that get filled with a ten foot spar I’m making this week!)
