The explanation on the box says it all. (Added bonus of increased clearance, though not inches…)
The sliver piece is the collar that is threaded on the inside and applies tension to the spring. The black threaded gadget is a coil spring compressor so I can get the thingies on.
The silver color has me questioning whether I’ll paint them, but I do have a theme going…
