Spring tweak list

The little speaker on the left is part of a system, it’s over 20 years old and showing some age, or more specifically, NOT showing. The sound is starting to go in the satellite speakers, but the subwoofer (seen below the table) is still dynamite.

I brought in a pair of speakers from the borch. They sound great out there, but ultimately don’t get much play. As one guest some years ago said “you TRULY have surround sound” as speakers are well placed, and there aren’t dead spots.

I’m willing to forego the completeness across the platform to upgrade the sound at the heart of the system. All that wire on the floor, yah, that’s on the agenda. Like any audiophile, I’d loathe to start cutting it up (every connection versus a clean wire solid degrades sound purity, quality). I have a full set of wires with connectors from my set up at the Harpbin in Harpswell (custom built for the set up there so as to not compromise the setup at the mothership).

I’ll bring the mounting brackets in for the speakers now that the evidence is clear, they sound cleaner and fuller than the old set. Once the new location of the speaker update is set, I’ll run the wires.

The entire stereo system setup is on the tweak list, so that factors in. I need a CD player, toss the old one, and update the corner contraption that’s 25 years old
