After looking at this

And working around it for a couple weeks

I bit the bullet and purchased some materials.

After cleaning up Friday’s delivery crumbs Saturday morning, I needed to head to Wesley to collect my freight, as my shuttle included the route north of me. It’s a common denominator meetup/transfer spot. As one,of the workers in the yard at Hammond Lumber put it, “Excellent use of a company vehicle!” I admitted there were perks.

I dropped the 3/4” CDX 4’x8’ sheet of plywood, mastic (aka tile glue) and grout before collecting my light load. It was only 30 something pieces, all getting ahead for next week (and maybe some crumbs from the station, I don’t really pay attention to delivery dates, for me it’s ALL about the address).

Once delivered out, my GPS had shifted to night mode but I didn’t have to change my glasses (from sun prescription to clear) and I actually got home before dark proper, 62 hours clocked. I cooked an early burger dinner, put away laundry, tidied up around the house and watched the introduction of a new BDR route on the Lost Coast in Northern California. It goes right through Ferndale which I lived near many moons ago. (Yet another) route I’d love to ride someday!

Now for some projecting. I need to thaw the tiles so won’t be “finishing” anything today, but if I can get a counter built, the kitchen will lurch out of dysfunction
