“All Day Fire” idea…
During a cursory shop (as I’m in town regularly “the big shop” isn’t a thing) I saw this beauty. As I was taco shopping, this Pork Blade Portion Roast caught my eye (the yellow sticker a beacon) and I thought “Well, as it’s gonna butt cold AGAIN, and I’m heading home around noon, let’s have an all day fire!”
The updated fire/heating system has been doing marvelously, very pleased! It eats more wood than a straight up rocketstove, but it’s neither drastic nor a resource I have and will continue to resupply and use. This formidable cold snap has been an excellent test, also for the brand spanking new water system. All green lights!
The marinade packets came from P&J as I swung by to scoop up my new coffee system. I usually make my own marinades, but this will make sure that I have differing things going on, the roast is big enough to halve, and YES, I’ll be roasting tomorrow too, as in, another all day fire. Charging the heat battery is fun, AND flavorful.

Rinsing bottles as I found a home for them. I’m getting emotional, I have a deep relationship/history to these bottles. Now that I have running water, brewing again is an option. Will I? The struggle is real, but they are in the way and something has to give. A good beer shelf would be easy to create, but they are dirty and in the way, so exploring….
Did someone say “running water”? It’s still novel…
