Yah, okay, it’s a piece of cardboard. A rectangular, very specific size. I’m impressed as it’s an extra piece that needn’t be included. It’s the first thing I saw when I opened the box.

But the first thing that impressed me, and why I took photos of the damaged exterior of the box, is how heavy it is!
This five burner was on sale and cheaper than the four burner I had been considering, AND is black enamel versus stainless steel, the latter of which I find less than ideal to clean. I would know, I’m a messy cook, shit be flyin’ everywhere when I’m working the heat!
No more photos until installation, despite my desire look at more of it. The grates above the burners are stout cast, another thing I’m impressed with. Steel would’ve “been fine” but I love the burliness and related thermal mass of cast iron. (It’s the most common cooking utensil I use, so well matched.)
Below the (dreaded) styrofoam pictured above, the electronic igniters look vulnerable without the burners installed, so imma leave it inna box, stay tuned. I want to tile around it, but that will be the second iteration. I need order in the kitchen. It didn’t matter all summer as I cook out on the porch/summer kitchen (which will have actual running water next summer)
It’s basically plug and play (electric and propane) but I’ve already logged almost 11 hours on the clock, and tomorrow is gonna be a nail bitter in the all day snow storm. Freight was 2+ hours late today and heavy for a Monday (almost twice the usual) but I cleared the van, and hope to tomorrow. Depends on freight count, timing AND the snow…
