That time of year in New England. I often have cabbage in the larder thanks to our global economy, but parsnips and rutabagas? Mashing up some fall taters to accompany steak.

Bed time isn’t far off, might do some plumbing, might…. I leave lights on before I leave for work and fire up the stove immediately upon return. Cold snap coming but hardly the worst of it. I’ll be around more for that, using wood to keep cozy, electric available for backup
