I did some more back filling last night after work, replete with headlamp while I flushed the well. (I let the pump run longer than I meant to, and when I went to check, heard a cool sound down in the well. It was still pumping smoothly, but not as robustly. I heard the water pouring down from the aquifer at 260’ to wherever the level was, likely 300’ where I placed the pump. It was a very cool sound, emphasizing that I have a good source, albeit not at the bottom of the well!)
I also emptied and moved all the rain buckets out of the way and generally battened down the hatches.
This morning I was very glad I had connected the well and filled the lower portion of the trench. rain abated before delivery and it was a nice light day. I’m trying to remind myself not to work too hard this weekend, despite the list…
