
When the mighty barrow is in the house! Removing the side walls of the riserless core rocketstove. I used sand and fireclay as the mortar, best decision ever! It enabled me to dismantle it with ease, and set aside the mortar to reconstitute and reuse (and isn’t toxic).
I want to scootch the stove right back to the flu. I can’t dismantle and repurpose the riserless core until the stove is securely in position

I’ll be using it to insulate the stove’s interior so more heat goes into the floor and bench, less directly into the space around it. Turns out I had what I needed to connect the stove

And while that “aluminum” tape sealed the joints well, there is a layer of plastic in the tape (SOOOOO LAAAAME!) and that smoked up the house with nasty toxic smoke. I’m sure there’s some micro-fine print somewhere on the packaging about what temperature it shouldn’t exceed. Lesson learned
