To my leeetle friend! A cleaning (and “get to know you”) activity while its warm and dry inside.

When I was falling in love with my (Ithaca model 37 featherweight 30” barrel) 12 gauge, it quickly became clear that, despite its grace and elegance, it’s practically a hand held cannon!
This (Mossberg model 590) 20 gauge is much more nimble and practical (in the realm of home defense). Bigger number gauge, smaller shotgun.
I sincerely hope I never have use it for anything other than target practice and varmint control. I am though, ready willing and able to do so in the unwelcome circumstance.
It’s a “same same but different” situation with my 12 gauge. Most readers here would see color and size difference. While true, and I shan’t bore you at length, the difference is notable in use. There is zero wood, it’s weatherproof, shorter barrel and longer tube (larger capacity “magazine”). It was made in Connecticut, where as the Ithaca was made in NY.
While so similar, I’m celebrating the differences, and falling in love with my new leeetle friend. It’s a different kind of insurance, assurance, respect and comfort…
