A paltry

Less than 9 hours of daylight greets my bedroom door. We got called off the road last night as a local squall was complicating travel. I had to ditch my Mariaville and Otis stops after delivering my last box of medication. (It was the furthest out on the route, and I had the next package on the floor next to me, “I’ll keep an eye out for 1086…”. What with the snow on signs, mailboxes and the road, I quickly became focused on the latter!)

The vast majority of the stops out that way are on “secondary” roads, dirt and windy, narrow, many unplowed. I was working my way back and banging out stops in Holden when dispatch cleared us, calling us in. I was on a roll but complied. The remaining packages will go back in the van and if suitable, be delivered today or later.

As it’s cold and windy this morning, staying well below freezing, it’s going to be a slip-slidey day. I’ll be out after dark, likely missing Deedles’ basketball game at Bangor tonight.
