After an “oopsy”

I found an amazing case for my phone. I strayed from the company that I’ve used for over a decade, Griffin Tech has been great, but I need to keep replacing the case after a couple years. Yes, I am case user, I’m rough on the goods and can’t be bothered by babying my hardware.

I don’t use my phone the way most do, or should I say as much, but it travels with me. I see cracked screens everywhere, hear people complaining about them, how it compromises their user experience, but are they focusing on solutions? Whatever, here’s what works for me

Pelican has been making military grade solutions for hauling stuff for decades. The two panniers on MINCX are Pelican cases (and total overkill, but beats underkill!) and knock-offs are popping up, slightly less bombproof, slightly lighter, less expensive, because there is a market for stowing your stuff securely.

Anyhoot, as I researched upgrading/replacing my phone case, the plethora of options made for some vetting. It’s very much a “get what you pay for” situation, but I don’t need to break the bank so as to not break my phone. I found a half price version of a case that impressed me in design, figured I’d give it a try.

The screen protector on my Griffin cases was functional, but began to wear, smear a bit, and the holder of the screen protector was the weak link, would get askew after a drop. This new case has the back snap on, instead of sliding the front into place. It’s brilliant, and totally works a treat! It’s overkill, waterproof and dust proof, but isn’t functionally compromised because. The screen protector is smooth, covers the entire front, and refreshingly functional.

While this might seem like splitting hairs to many, you won’t hear me complaining about the status of my phone, anymore than me using it during an in person conversation.
