A major difference

When delivering fuel, you leave after you load, whenever you want (Crowley was chill that way!)

At FXE (FedEx Express) we have to wait for the cans to come off the plane. Packages get scanned, labeled for routes, then comes down the belt, drivers grab, scan, load the vehicle. It takes about an hour. We don’t leave the building before 10a, noon deliveries often determine the route order.

It’s NOT about efficiency, it’s about meeting the needs of the customers that pay a premium. We move a lot of medication, documents, mostly small stuff. I didn’t realize I had applied to Express, I like how it’s playing out. (That said, as corporations do what they do, to maximize profit, Express is being fazed out, area by area, based on need, whether Ground can take it on. The lease on the building in Bangor is up 2027, some writing on the wall…)
