Clickity click…

Olivia reached out to me (ahem) this morning and I did the task (after sharing my clean record with allayall). As a result she reached out again (ahem!) and was lurking in the junk folder.

I voted, fueled MINCX, got some groceries and then hit the spring in Whiting. I continued up Route One, pudgy with my errands, and took the long way home. Not the REALLY long way, but chased that big pumpkin in the sky as it set.

It was pleasant, damp roads, the remaining foliage on the tamaracks, a rusty yellow fuzz (the only conifer that sheds its needles completely) and mixed clouds catching the last rays after the pumpkin slid below tree lined horizon.

As I neared home along the well known road from Machias, the light thrown from headlights more visible, almost necessary by arrival. Last night I drove into wircus similarly, darker actually.

How fitting somehow that my last shift will be unique in that I drove to work “in the dark”. While out on errands Inmissed a call, acquired a voicemail. I reached out and FedEx recruiter said I’d probably start tomorrow after dealing with the first part of Olivia’s task in my junk folder, or at least the hiring manager would be calling me as I’d be officially hireable …

She doesn’t know I’m an hour+ away, but Jamie does. Will I do a partial day tomorrow or simply start Thursday? Keep you posted, but it looks like I’m done with the wircus. Imma collecting my hat, water bottle and kitchen crocs bright and early tomorrow, I can always bring them back if I do a couple weekends shifts, but a clean break would feel nice, ZERO fanfare
