To town. I used cash from my Mason’s “tip out” to fill up W3lly en route to FedEx. The interview was short but meaningful and the local HR guy mentioned he thought I’d get an offer. During the conversation I piqued his interest and he mentioned that a “domicile route” may be opening in my neighborhood. We looked at the DownEast portion of FedEx routes, Wesley is right in the crux, I mentioned I lived practically on top of where the trucks swap loads!
A domicile route means I would park a truck at my house, collect packages in the morning from Bangor, then disperse them. It’s a possibility, we connected professionally, he wrapped his head around me having a tent in Bangor but loving living on my land.
He realized I had come to town for the interview, then thought we might just get the drug screen and DOT physical done (saving us time and me a trip to town, and a vote of confidence from him). (The smiley sticker was from one of two wonderful receptionists at Concentra, we made each other smile, it was cool)
Guaranteed 35 hours paid per week, but rare are the weeks under that. Two consecutive days off, uniforms.
