It was quietly monumental

Warmer gloves after “straight home or long cut via the spring?”

I offered the suggestion of him taking out MINCX to round his moto experience. Instead of him pulling out the rally and us doing some dirt, we spent a couple hours on backroads.

It’s was “the spring run” and we returned with 5 gallons of roadside spring water. It had been a decade or so since I’d frequented the well but it was running clear (and steady despite how dry/low the groundwater is)

We debriefed the ride, it was fascinating seeing “my bike” behind me, and honestly quite thrilling. He rode safely and well, following me through the DownEast maze of fall color and back roads. It was our first “road trip” together, the first time we’ve done an asphalt ride. I explained its relevance to him and got an “oh, yah” when we dug deeper.

First of many was the theme, and we talked about motocamping, dual sport, the balance of dirt and tar, and if one is on a bike that does both, you can pretty much go anywhere!
