The depths are astounding. I’ve been exploring a Spotify curated Buckethead playlist. Lots of stuff I like, rocking jams, jams, rocking riffs. To diversify and spread out a little I scrolled and found this play list.
It’s more of a collection. It’s only a mere 75 hours…. This is what’s available on Spotify, maybe a third or so (likely less) of his work. I punched random and play.
It was diverse, disjointed, a good foot wetting at the edge of a bay connected to the larger body. This winter I’m contemplating the goal of purchasing his entire Pike library, and going through them in order. No, I already know I don’t and won’t like them all. But in context, I feel it a worthy quest to ingest and perhaps digest his process, progress, offerings.
It’s remarkable to have access to so much music. To be able to have so many “first listens” out there. I’ve heard but a smattering of his repertoire, and have so much to look forward to!
