The wheel barrow is full of tiny splinters and scraps, fantastic kindling, micro kindling really. Wait till you see the macro kindling (there is some that’s bone dry, a bunch needs to be bucked, I still haven’t fired up the saw from the big storm before last Christmas)!

I’ve already taken two honking loads of bark to the refuse compost spot. An advantage of the resplit, lotsa bark comes off in the process. As a rule I don’t burn the stuff, that’s a rabbit hole in and of itself. It makes good fill, I use the hardwood scraps, and I don’t have a huge dead zone where it all sits, loverly!
