The hole to the lefts is where the “fire” comes from. The lower right hole was where it went, iteration one. Top right hole, number two.

Number three is processing: I need to rearrange the flu, and clean it. The connection to the chimney flu needs improvement.

I’m going to have to disassemble the right part of the stove, but that won’t affect the firebox to the left (which will have its own upgrades when the flu is dialed in).
