(And didn’t leave the property, touch/see asphalt, use any vehicles). For balance, today I buzzed over to the Cutler Preserve on btwxd (takes about an hour 15 or so)

And donned my new Keens after doffing my ADV boots. I first hiked into the outlook

As blown away as ever by this spot. Hence the nickname for this part of Maine, The Bold Coast!

Then along a silent and calm ocean, through dappled light that opens into a variety of meadows, to what I call “halfway beach”

This is but a tiny slice of the beach, if you will, as there is zero sand, my kinda beach! just under 6 very rugged hiking miles, thankfully the breeze picked up on my return trip. (It’s possible to make a loop by coming around inland, but I love the rocky rooty radical topography of the coastal trail, did I mention the divine breeze?!)
Nabbed some groceries on the way home. I’m exploring “overnight oats” for breakfast. A while back I had a bunch of instant oatmeal packets gifted to me (by Ellen, my neighbor in West Bath at The Loop) and have played around with chucking them into morning shakes. Obvi the instant oatmeal is laden with crap so I’m rebooting from scratch. Dollop of yogurt, rolled oats (didn’t have access to organic locally) some flax meal&chia, small scoops of probiotic nondairy creamer, alt sweetener and MUD\WATER (it’s a many mushroom coffee substitute plus good stuff).
Get some fiber and micronutrients into the system first thing. I’m dialing in an eating schedule and style as my hours are very different, settling in at a start of 3:30p, done by 10-11:30p, depending on business. Getting into a supportive pattern for a demanding lifestyle (yes, Bowdoin was rather boring and bland by contrast!)
