Nine dollar investment

I measured the thread pitch at the hardware store and found these stainless bolts, the longest with a matching pitch. Stainless is more expensive but less likely to suffer corrosion and getting hitched up around food and heat…

The burner sits on four hanging stainless Ls. I want the burner up, closer to the cooker surfaces. I don’t want to fiddle with the welds or the Ls just yet, that opens a huge can of worms, could alter symmetry quickly and with drastic consequences…

The idea is to create a sleeve over the bolt, fireproof of course, lifting the burner, leaving the Ls and burner support unaltered. I have an inch and quarter of room to do so with the bolts I purchased.

A scrap piece of 1/2 inch copper piping comes into play.

And presto, elevation gain achieved! I’d love another inch, but it’s a good start. I’ll warm up some lunch and see if I feel the difference, investment was worth it…
