That’s a wrap

Polished off the Harpbin experience today, paid the remaining balance of my electric bill. Deposit and a half month’s rent were taken care of via PayPal. Check…

The next chapter has already begun. Unless we count my motocamping/working vacation? (that’s a-whole-nother story really, crammed A LOT into a couplefew weeks…)

First off at work, took care of paperwork, watched a sexual harassment in the work place video, then got plugged in on the pizza station for the night and rocked out! It was clear to everyone there it wasn’t my first kitchen rodeo.

We were busy for a Wednesday (at one point I popped out of the kitchen to get a visual and there were a few empty seats, but I’m going to say it was comfortably packed.) We were in the weeds for maybe an hour or so, but pushed through with sparkles.

It’s a dynamic, boisterous and team vibe, a little crass, but seriously full steam ahead. Lots of communication, workers announcing their presence, path, making way for each other, and a delightful amount of manner, politeness. Yah, it got “hot” for a spell (the “in the weeds” part, meaning a struggle to keep up, cross EVERY t and dot EVERY i) but we prevailed.

The gal I was working with had a good sense of what she was doing, shared her experience with me and we seamlessly danced at the station grinding out yummy pizzas. She apologized for it being a little hectic, being my first shift and all, I thanked her for that, but ultimately shrugged it off in a “LET’S DO THIS” kinda way.

It may have been my first shift, but no one has been there longer than a couple weeks, basically we are all new, all learning, all on the growth curve together!!!

I kept smiling on my way home in Wellington on dark quiet wet roads after a beer (and a couple slices of my self made pizza dinner, not a menu item!) at the bar with a couple fellow line workers, and when I got home declared “THAT just happened!” and broke out in laughter.

And I’m like “Yah, I’ll do THAT again!”
