A basic “Before”

Hello car butt, how’s your day?

As it’s voiceless, I’ll enter that it might be nervous, or curious, maybe excited, but about to get altered, decorated. This box came lickity-split, great communication from the company, thus far I’m seriously impressed.

I pulled the well placed staples from the cardboard and could barely lift the hitch receiver out of the box. First words out of my mouth, “This thing is BURLY!” Somehow just way more so than I thought, and in comparison to the hitch U-Haul put on Hedwig. So much so I wondered if I ordered the wrong size…

I dug my hitch out of the back laundry room, it slid right into the 2” receiver, PHEW! I’m even more impressed, albeit sad to tack more weight onto the Venza.

My local mechanic doesn’t instal hitches, so I’m on it. I don’t have everything I need with me (I think) so going to explore the under-butt and assess.

I have to free the muffler (though not remove) from the bottom of the car to slip in and then fasten the receiver, it’s been there for 12 years and could be problematic. I know for a fact one of the muffler hanger hooks is very rusted and likely compromised, so hoping to not create any issues…
