The requisite stickers

For motorcycle parts.

Here is the stock front rim and brake rotor. Yes, correct, boooooooo! Okay, I’m being dramatic, but also pointing out that stock (the way the bike rolls out of the showroom/dealer) can be adequate, sometimes subpar. It depends on what the intent for the tool is…

News flash, I’m not a hundred and fifty pound putt around the backyard guy (which is what stock affords!). Warp Nine (the W9 sticker way up top) made the larger circumstance/diameter brake rotor AND bracket (so the stock caliper, seen below, works with the upgrade).

The brake caliper is protected behind the fork, the front of the bike is left, axle bolt goes in that left hole.

This is a busy photo compared to the last. Note the black bracket that moves the caliper away from the fork. The hose and blue thing are a brake line bleeding gadget, supremely useful! (The brakes are hydraulic so fluid needs to fill the caliper and brake line, ALL air must be bled, as it’s easy to compress and thus defeats the purpose of having fluid in the line.)

There is also a new brake line present, the braided stainless steel line visible connected to the caliper.

So yah, it’s a ONE-TWO punch. The stock brake line is plastic and squishy (has give, so like air in the line, makes the hydraulic system underfunction) so the second sticker from up yonder is Galfer Brakes, made in the US of A thank you very much!!!

The front brake will have a whole lot more stopping power now! Dialing in a rear gear storage solution and upgrading the tank bag now. Reality? Spring ain’t that far off, and I won’t be sitting around on my thumb when it presents moto weather…

Tomorrow I’ll be acquiring a battery tender as the bike is grumpy with me and won’t start, the consequence of not using it….. The battery isn’t DEAD, but it’s close and that’s THE WORST thing one can do to a battery!
