First shelf, zero fasteners into building.

Second shelf, still free standing.

I removed (and saved) the bottom piece of trim from the window, replacing it with something bigger, longer. It’s fastened to the wall at the edges of the window and in the corner. The upper shelf is fastened to that. The upright support has one screw in its foot, keeping it in place.

Nine pairs of footwear and some 20 garments, and a speaker in the corner! (Can’t really see the latter but is PERFECT!)
This morning I was dressing (after another great sleep, no coffee at lunch making ALL the difference) and momentarily looked around for morning Crocs, spun around and saw what I wanted as I reached for them, BAM. Functioning systems bring me happiness!
Side note (at the bottom); the only materials that cost money were the hooks, and I reused two of three that were attempting to be awesome below the window.
This weekend: hooks in the bedroom!
