Has been revelatory in a variety of ways. The fob for the Benza does a variety of things, even remote start (though it’s not labeled on it or addressed in the manual) but it’s NOT a key.
As the car is over a decade old, the signal from the fob was weak, so while researching battery replacement, I learned that the Kay is actually embedded IN the fob!

And helpful popping it open. Replacement was a breeze, though hardly a joy knowing more batteries are requisite.
I guess I’m old school, I LIKE inserting a key, turning it, using it to start the engine. Same year as Hedwig with some tech it didn’t have. (Hedwig’s key was a small fob with many of the same functions, but I don’t recall replacing the battery, I never used the key as a fob.)
The Venza won’t start without “detecting” the key…. Here’s to hoping that tech is sound, as the actual key only opens the door, there is NO ignition!
Up to the rooftop for shingle replacement, more inclement weather due, then I’ll address reinstalling the fixed flat. The road isn’t in great shape with the rain and thaw, I’ll stay off it as long as possible, hoping my neighbors will too…
