Nail update

Before I started at Bowdoin I noticed the bottom of the top bruised nail had a gap by the cuticle. In an effort to not have that catch on something and rip off my finger (gives me nasty goosebumps just talking about it) I snipped the raw edge away, then realized there was scabby stuff underneath. I began excavating that material out, it neither stunk nor hurt.

As the nail continued to grow, I kept removing what I could and smoothing and edges that could snag, extricating any material from underneath, and it’s almost gone!

I wear food service gloves pretty much all day at work, BOOOOOO, so it’s protected and there’s little to no worry about it catching on something. The nail below is all bumpy like many of my father’s nails, not sure if it will remain that way!

The morning sun comes up on the other side of Harpswell (and hill), we are on the sunset side. The pic above hints at the morning sun pattern as it rises. The cabin is ensconced by a variety of vegetation, I’ll knock some of that back (lotsa bittersweet, sumac, weedy stuff) but will have much more light once the green curtain comes down.

I have yet to mention that Ash Cove Road is dirt, a dead end that Ts at the downhill base by the cove (and at which each terminus I’ve delivered fuel!) and is very quiet. Been sleeping like a log and loving it. Preparing for my first guest this weekend!!
