The bean routine

Can commence. I don’t cook a lot when home, but enough. Saw the Marafac beans in the cupboard last night and decided to get a batch rolling. In part due to

Having spent about a half an hour adjusting the outdoor burner. Last week I made chicken stock, and noticed how yellow the flame was. I forgot how much carbon that deposits on the bottom of pans until touched, moved and interacted with the stock pot. It was caked, an absolute mess!

While using on low for the stock, I wonder if the volume of gas going through it was responsible, fiddled with air flow, no change.

Earlier this weekend I brought the tools out onto the screened in porch and things went smoothly. I upgraded the fastener to stainless years ago, things freed right up and there was a TON of rusty particle stuff inside the burner. A few minutes of cleaning and it was back together, clean blue flame.

Beans go in the pot (with last night’s pork trimmings)!!!
