These wonderful south facing windows are a little too wonderful in the summer. I’ve used white sheets in the past, and as much as I enjoy the light those let it, it was also letting in a fair bit of heat.
Working with my quilted window shades, I’ve lined the back of them with white plastic. It will reflect the light better, and though the window itself will heat up, the insulated cover will fend much of that off.
I may also put the second GrowingSpaces cooling fan up in the gable peak, using it as a temperature activated solar exhaust option. Do I need two in the grome?
